New Juaben South Municipal Assembly has elected Hon. Nana Yaw Debrah as the new Presiding Member (PM) for the Assembly after inaugurating fifty Assembly Members on Monday, February 12, 2024. The election process recorded five (5) Assembly Members picking nomination forms to compete for the Presiding Member position. Hon. Enoch Boahene (Assembly Member for Nyamekrom Electoral area), Hon. Edward Adjei Owusu (Assembly Member for Anglican Electoral area), Hon. Alex Anning Atuahene (Assembly Member for Ohemaa Park Electoral area), Hon. Citizen Tetteh Francis (Assembly Member for Two streams Electoral area) and the PM elect picked their forms.

After the voting, Hon. Nana Yaw Debrah attain 35 votes out of the total of 50 votes cast which means he got the required two-thirds (2/3) from the total number of (50) votes cast. His Lordship Justice George Akrofa Addae then sworn-in the new Presiding Member into office. Nana Yaw Debrah (New Presiding Member) thanked his colleagues for entrusting him with the PM position and promised to use any mechanism to bring the spirit of unity and togetherness among the Assembly members. He also states to support the welfare of the Honorable Assembly members in order for them to work tireless for the people in the Municipality.
