The Municipal Chief Executive for New Juaben South, Honorable Isaac Appaw-Gyasi on August 16, 2022, with the support of the traditional authorities inaugurated Hydro Co-Operative Credit Union Limited a new branch in Koforidua, the Eastern Regional capital. The idea behind the inauguration of the new branch in the municipality is to bring employment and instill in the citizenry the habit of savings.

The event graced by the dignitaries of the Credit Union Association of Ghana, Dr. Kojo Ketu the National Health Insurance Scheme Regional Director, the MCE for New Juaben South Honorable Isaac Appaw Gyasi, the traditional authorities and Directors from the Akosombo Hydro Credit Union Limited.

Honorable Appaw-Gyasi the MCE of New Juaben South Municipal Assembly expressed his excitement about the emergence of the Hydro Co-Operative Credit Union to the people of New Juaben. According to him, the emergence of this credit union will help to reduce the rate of unemployment in Koforidua since it is a means for job creation. He strongly believes it is a great initiative and went ahead to encourage all traders, drivers and other Small and Medium Entrepreneurs (SMEs) to save with Hydro Co-Operative Credit Union.

He further cautioned Hydro Co-Operative Credit Union to be very vigilant and treat all the people of Koforidua with good services and advised the public to cultivate the habit of saving more instead of spending.
