PRESIDENT PAID HOMAGE TO THE OMANHENE OF NEW JUABEN TRADITIONAL COUNCIL

The President for the Republic of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo on Sunday, 23rd October 2022 paid homage to the newly coronated Omanhene and other sub-chiefs of the New Juaben Traditional Area at the Yiadom Hwedie Palace in Koforidua. The visit was to afford the president the opportunity to acquaint and officially introduce himself to the Omanhene, Daasebre Kwaku Boateng Ababia III, since he assumed the Omanhene position.

Among the entourage were the Eastern Regional Minister, Hon. Allan Kwadwo Kyeremateng, Trade Minister, Hon. Amoako Atta, Roads Minister, Hon. Attah Kyeah, Member of Parliament Abuakwa South Constituency, Hon. Michael Okyere Baafi; Member of parliament New Juaben South and Deputy Minister Trade and Industry, Hon Nana Adjei Boateng, Member of Parliament New Juaben North Constituency, paid a courtesy call on Daasebre Kwaku Boateng III, the Omanhene of the New Juaben Traditional Area, at the Yiadom Hwedie Palace in Koforidua.

His excellence the President of Ghana cheered the Omanhene and the traditional authorities for assuming the Omanhene’s position and wished him success in his regime, saying New Juaben needs to be developed and ‘my government assured nananom of rapid development.

In his address, the Omanhene of the New Juaben Traditional Council, Daasebre Kwaku Boateng III, commended the President and his team for the honour, saying the chiefs and people of New Juaben Traditional Area will forever remember the government of Akufo-Addo for the support and assistance during the ‘Doteyie’ of the Late Daasebre Oti Boateng and Ohemaa Nana Yaa.

He further expressed gratitude to the President for New Juaben's overall growth and advancement. He cited some development initiatives during his speech, including the building of the Koforidua Stadium and Jackson Park, the installation of drainage systems in places like Nsukwao, the building of the new court, and to top it all off, the newly constructed three-storey New Juaben South Municipal building.

Additionally, the Omanhene Daasebre Kwaku Boateng III, asked the people of Ghana to have patience with the administration because difficulties are not unique to Ghana but are being experienced by the entire world. He assured the President that the people of New Juaben will continue to trust in the government so as to improve the living conditions of the ordinary Ghanaian.

Touching on transport, the Omanhene passionately appealed to the President for the reconstruction of Koforidua railways system in order to boost the means of transport and reduce of vehicular traffic.

“Mr. President, the chiefs and people of New Juaben traditional Area would want you to consider us in the ongoing reconstruction of railways system before your term of office elapse” he said. Daasebre Kwaku Boateng III, further called on the President to provide the people of New Juaben with an ongoing Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) school so as to equip the students in the areas of STEM and provide the human resource and backbone for industry.

His Excellency, Nana Akufo-Addo applauded the Omanhene for ascending the throne for the people of New Juaben, saying the government will not relent on it effort to support the traditional leaders when it comes to development.

Reacting to the concerns raised by the Omanhene, the President further assured them of rapid development , since Koforidua is a regional capital there is no way it will be left unattended to, more projects are come to Koforidua in the ensuing year.

He urged the people of New Juaben that the issue of poor roads and poor drainage systems in some parts of Juaben will be addressed and New Juaben is also a component of the government`s One District One Factory Initiative.
