Department of Social Welfare and Community Development

The Department serves and represents the Municipal on issues bothering on Social and Community Development. We work in partnership with people in various communities to improve their well-being through promoting development with equity for the disadvantaged, vulnerable and the excluded.

The Department plans and coordinates community based projects aimed at achieving gender equality and equity, enforcing the rights of children, integrating and protecting the vulnerable, excluded and Persons with Disability, empowering women as well as community care.

Child Maintenance Welfare

Procedure and Processes

  1. The department receives the complaint from the client.
  2. The department issues summons to both the complainant and defendant to appear before a committee.
  3. The committee sits on the case and mediates/settles case

Requirements from Clients

  1. Make a verbal or written complain to the department
  2. • Attach evidence of issues
  3. Make an appeal or dissatisfied party may seek redress at the courts of law (when not satisfied with mediation)

Registration Of Non Governmental Institution

Procedure and Processes

  1. Application letter received
  2. Verification of attached documents
  3. Letter of recommendation is handed over to Client
  4. Permit is referred to Regional Office of the DSW&CD

Requirements from Clients

Submit application letter with the following attachments:

  2. Company Code of Conduct
  3. Certificate to Commence Business
